Take a look at the bulletin from "furd". That post gives you ii more options on how to adjust the fan speed.
I did Not end upwards making those changes. Here'south why. The W face of my house is all glass. That ways that there is a lot of sun inbound the house during the afternoon. The master area of the firm has a cathedral ceiling and an open loft. In the afternoon, the loft was getting unbearably hot. The problem turned out that there was only one pocket-size A/C vent in the loft and that the air intake was in the basement. My installer added an air intake to high up near the cathedral ceiling and another big air output vent bravado into the loft. With these changes, I didn't need to alter the fan speed.
In the cooling flavour, the new air intake sucks warm air from the ceiling, cools it, and distributes it around the house. The net is less warm air near the ceiling (and thus in the loft). The new air output supplies more cold air in the loft. In the cooling season, I manually close the air outputs in the basement. Even so, the basement borders on too absurd for my gustation.
In the heating season, the new air intake again sucks warm air from the ceiling, heats it more, and distributes it around the house. The cyberspace is more efficient heating. I actually then manually close the new air output vent in the loft. Since the loft is so close to the ceiling, information technology simply doesn't need any more heat in the winter. In both the heating and cooling flavour, I proceed the fan "on" during the 24-hour interval to keep the temperature as even every bit possible throughout the house.
I suspect that the A/C installer mis-estimated the cooling needs of my house. On a hot summer mean solar day, the dominicus blasts though the West facing windows. During the afternoon, the main office of the firm volition rise to 3 degrees over where the thermostat is set. (The loft will ascent to 5 degrees over where the thermostat is gear up.) But this state of affairs is much better than when I started. Cheers, Cliff
